GCSE Celebrations for Students at St Mark's Academy

St Mark’s Church of England Academy in Mitcham, part of Anthem Schools Trust, is celebrating after its Year 11 students received a strong crop of GCSEs.
The St Mark’s youngsters join teenagers across the country who are finding out their results following exams in May and June.
The youngsters have had many challenges to face, including the disruption to their education during the pandemic five years ago, when this year’s GCSE students were in their final year of primary school.
Nevertheless, teenagers have much to celebrate on GCSE results day and the students of St Mark’s are certainly no exception.
St Mark’s are celebrating another year of tremendous GCSE exam success. Students have replicated the accomplishments of previous cohorts and gained a 65% pass rate at 4+ and 41% at 5+ for students achieving both Maths and English GCSEs. This is line with 2024 national attainment for these headline figures. This is a phenomenal achievement for a cohort with 45% of students having a recognised SEND need compared to 17% nationally.
